Greetings! This fund was set up on behalf of the residents of Berry Creek who currently are dealing with the loss of our entire community via the Bear fire.
We are a very tight knit town in which everyone knows everyone which is virtually unheard of for California. I have been appointed as I've in the past taken up various community efforts to assist and uplift those in need and feel that this fundraiser is my duty even if we don't get close to our final goal. In the least, if this fundraiser can yield even one home or structure for a family in need then I will feel that its served its purpose.
This is a safe place for people to help other people where religion and politics get left out. Seeking all inclusive accommodations as many individual elderly folks lived here off grid and we are now all stranded with nothing. We have lost a lot but we have each other and we are united.
Berry Creek was home to 3,000+ families who now struggle to find shelter and supplies during one of the biggest housing crises in the nation (Butte County) while most of California burns around us as well.
This small mountain town was everything to some, with 4 generations in most cases worth of cherished places and now faces scattered and our homes are completely gone. Hardly anything remains. Our local market and only fuel stop for 30 miles is leveled. Our churches and communities centers are in ashes, our elementary school where we once held fire prevention and awareness meetings now a silent lesson that speaks deafening volumes.We are a humble but hard headed folk who are not afraid to admit that we NEED HELP.

As everyone knows, we are in the middle of a pandemic and many of the creekers have been out of work due to the nature and isolation of our community. Many people who have commuted to work have been impacted by the virus and were already on savings and welfare. This event is even more devastating as a result.
We can build tiny homes for everyone who lost their housing utilizing our community army of handymen at our disposal (You have to be good with your hands to live in the Creek- Many chose
and will continue to live there for this dream of building their empire with their hands in this way). Each house will cost anywhere from $10,000 to 35,000 base cost to establish depending on family size. These will by no means be fully permanent accommodations but they will allow us to get back into our community and begin rebuilding what was lost without fear of the elements and animals getting to our families and friends.
Many like us previously dwelled in RVs and mobile homes and seek nothing more than a simple version of this style home. It was our freedom.
We lost all power capabilities in this fire so the entire town will need to be restructured into a fully off grid self reliable eco community. Luckily we are the ones connected enough to pull this thing off. This factors into our costs and plans.
In addition to financial help we will need to begin obtaining building supplies and dedicated volunteers to help in clean up and land restoration. Anyone with connections that can help with tool / supply donations / carpentry lessons is urged to contact me directly.
