Rebuild Steel City Houses
I am Stacy VanSluytman and pictured here is my husband, CJ with 2 long time members of our Steel City Houses crew, Paul and Kinsey in front of our latest rehab project. CJ and I are Real Estate Investors for the last 15 years. We started Steel City Houses LLC about 9 years ago when we moved from Florida to Pennsylvania. Here we have found a good home, many friends, started a family that now includes 3 young children and we saw to a need that investors who lived and worked out-of-state wanted a trustworthy company to handle maintenence and repairs for their investments in this area. Currently we manage several rental properties where we handle most all the repairs and we flip property as well doing all the rehab work ourselves.
But "Why" you ask do we need to set up a gofundme account to rebuild Steel City Houses? Well, we became victims on September 8th to contruction theft. Our latest rehab project was discoved broken into after returning from the Labor Day holiday. Several valuable tools, work equipment and purchased building products not yet installed are now gone... probably forever. This theft is not covered by insurance, our business is seriously disabled, we need to purchase new product all over again to complete the house and we are running out of time. On top of all that we have no tools to complete even the simplest repair at a rental property and Paul and Kinsey, members of our rehab team are now completely out of their ability to work leaving their families to suffer as well. The value of all these tools and materials stolen from this rehab project totals near 8,000 but the worst is without these tools these two families including ours lost the ability to earn a proper income.
We worked really hard to build this company from the ground up without a single handout. We deliver quality work without the expensive price tag and we care about the people we help everyday. We hope there is enough people out their who care to help a young family get back on its feet after a hard hit to the family business and the other families who depend on us.
