My friend Zoë is a longtime member of the Seattle and Bellingham fusion dance communities, and she needs our help.

In April of 2024, Zoë was laid off from her job as a logistics specialist. The job market has not been good for folks in her profession and she has been scraping by on temp jobs or unemployment until now. Unfortunately, her unemployment has expired, and the interim work has not covered baseline expenses. Now, it's time to ask for help to achieve a bigger level up to escape this cycle of unsustainable work.

This year has been especially difficult for Zoë, and as her longtime friend and housemate, I have seen many of the ways, large and small, that the previous months have affected her everyday life as well as blocked her long-term goals. She hasn't been able to regularly participate in dance classes and events, invest in positive healthcare goals, or even reach a steady-state of a balanced bank account. Now that 2024 is at its end, Zoë cannot afford to go it alone anymore, and needs help from her community to turn things around.

For this fundraiser, Zoë is looking for three months of breathing room in the new year to establish a more stable financial situation while navigating to more satisfying and sustainable work. This amount will cover those baseline expenses (rent, food, student loans) so that she can start her upward trajectory. Anything you can give will help!
