Help my family get their water well up and running so they can provide water to people in Gaza for free.

Before October 2023, my family in Khan Yunis in the Gaza Strip had faucets outside of their home providing drinking water to people in need for no cost.

They did this using a water well they digged on their land, which they used themselves and gave away water from completly for free.

Since then, their solar panels and generators that helped get this water and purify it have been bombed, and now, the price of gas is really expensive. For instance, it would cost 160 NIS per hour (around 40 USD) to rent & run a generator for water purification. This is an expense my family can't afford by themselves or afford to give away water with, unless the whole system is repaired and they use solar panels and an owned generator instead.

After many evacuations around the Gaza Strip, my family is now finally living close to their land and want to restart this project up again.

The entire project would cost them around 10k USD (13600 CAD) + transfer fees to the Gaza Strip which are around 20% of whatever is sent there due to cash flow reasons.

So the total amount needed would be around 15K CAD total. Every cent that gets to my family in Gaza will go towards rebuilding this well and purchasing solar panels & a generator. My family will use the water themselves and water will be given away FOR FREE to anyone in the area that needs it. They will not & have never charged for it.

[2025 update: please note that as we have not been able to raise the entire amount and prices in Gaza have gone up, we unfortunately won't be able to rebuild the water well to give water out forever, however, every cent raised will still be used for the purpose of distributing free water in Gaza.

We will update everyone soon (with photos) about other ways we've used the money to power various water wells in Gaza and give out water for free in different parts of the strip, stay tuned!]
