Rebuild Vista Camps: Support Kerr County Families

Hey y'all, my name is Matte and I have been a member of the vista family for 13 unforgettable years, and it has saved me countless times in more than one way. Now it is time to help save them in any way we can. The vista family is strong, and worldwide and I feel beyond confident that we can come together to make a difference.

Vista Camps has been changing lives in Kerr County for over 100 years, and has been a solid foundation for kids, families, alumni, and staff. As many are aware, Kerr County was absolutely devastated by an absolutely massive flood that ran through Vista Camps and destroyed several of its most prized facilities. Several vital buildings and pieces of infrastructure sustained major damage or were completely lost. These include:

    •    The Camp Store

    •    Two Staff Cabins

    •    The RV Gym

    •    The Golf/Canoe Shed

    •    The Lookout Cabin

    •    Our Office and its contents

    •    Johnnie and Kathy’s home, which was a total loss

    •    The water well that supplies our full-time homes

    •    Bridges and roads in and out of campCamp has unfortunately endured catastrophic damage that will cost them unimaginable amounts of money to fix and replace the things that once were. Along with this, our newest full-time members, Taylor and Kourtney Broussard, along with their 4-month-old Elizabeth (Birdie) Broussard, have had their home completely destroyed. As someone who Vista fully contributed to throughout my 21 years of life, and my friends and campers alike, they need us now more than ever to come together and return all the love, support, and companionship they've given selflessly to so many others. These donations will be 100% donated to the Hawkins, Rumbo, Morris, and Broussard families to aid in restoring camp as it once was. All extra proceeds will be donated further to other affected camps, facilities, and areas of Kerr County in need of relief. Funds will be managed and distributed to recipients by Justin Hawkins, the owner of Vista Camps.

Let us give back to Vista Camps what it has so graciously given to us, and so many other past, present, and future campers.
