Rebuild Vicki and Lance's Flooded Home

My name is Vicki, and my husband Lance and I are residents of North Carolina. When Hurricane Helene struck, it completely devastated our area. Towns like ours and Castle Rock have been nearly wiped off the map—homes, businesses, and entire communities are gone. Our home was flooded beyond recognition, leaving us to tear out walls, cabinets, and countertops, trying to salvage whatever little we can.

The most heartbreaking part is that we don’t have flood insurance, and our homeowners’ insurance won’t cover the damages caused by the storm. We’ve been left to do this all on our own, with only a little help from some close friends. But the damage is overwhelming. Our community, once full of life, now feels like a ghost town, and we’re struggling to rebuild.
