Help Uganda Skateboard Society build a new skatepark with Wonders Around the World and Salad Days of Skateboarding.

Background:

Sadly, the skatepark that has been the home to Uganda Skate Society has been demolished. The Uganda Skateboard Society built their iconic DIY skatepark and the thriving skate community that called it home over many years of dedication to providing a safe and free space for the skate community to call home. Unfortunately, this DIY skatepark was on private land which was recently sold and the new landowner promptly demolished the DIY skatepark to make way for commercial development.

The Next Steps:

Now for the good news: Thanks to generous financial support from Thrasher Magazine and Adidas Skateboarding, Uganda Skateboard Society has recently purchased their own parcel of land where they can build a new skatepark that will never meet this same fate. Uganda Skateboard Society now owns the land where the future skatepark will provide a continued home for the skateboarding community to grow and thrive.

Uganda Skateboard Society is partnering with Wonders Around the World and Salad Days of Skateboarding to fully fund and build a new skatepark that the Uganda Skateboard Society can call home for generations to come.

Uganda Skateboard Society is a locally run organization that uses skateboarding as a tool to empower youth in Mukono, Kampala. Founded in 2011, they provide free access to skateboards and lessons for local kids.

Wonders Around the World is a global nonprofit who specialize in building professional concrete skateparks to empower local skateboarding communities. So far, Wonders has built over 20 skateparks around the world.

Salad Days of Skateboarding is a California based 501(c)3 nonprofit who operate globally by supporting and elevating skateboarding communities. We collaborate with local skate community leaders to provide access, build infrastructure, and develop free youth programs.

All three organizations are 100% volunteer run , so 100% of your donation goes to reaching our goal of rebuilding the skatepark for the Uganda Skateboard Society.
