Rebuild Tom, Julia and Charley's Home after Mountain Fire

Donation protected
On Wednesday, November 6th, the quick moving Mountain Fire took the home of Tom Newhard, his granddaughter Julia and family friend Charley.

Tom, his wife (dec’d) and his two sons built this beautiful home with their hands in 1976.
Since the day they moved in, the home was the center of the family; hosting holidays, birthdays, parties and a safe haven for 48 years.

The most recent and final birthday the house hosted was Tom’s 92nd.

As the family grew, family members moved away, got older and passed on, Tom remained in his home and the place anyone could return to for a story, a meal or a swim.

In April of this year, Julia made the tough decision to return to Camarillo to help care for her aging grandfather, Tom, while her husband finishes his overseas assignment as an active duty member of the US Navy.

Julia, Tom and Charley lost everything in this fire except their lives. Support from this fundraiser will go towards rebuilding their lives, replacing necessities and the cost of care and resources needed for Tom and Charley, two seniors who have medical and comfort needs.

This fundraiser was created by a Los Angeles-based friend of Julia's as a way to alleviate some of the stress Julia and her family are experiencing logistically and emotionally. Thank you for your support as they navigate this time.
