Rebuild the Welcome Building at RAIMITI- Fakarava
Donation protected
Hello, My name is jean-louis aka Tonton Jean-Louis or Meherio on TripAdvisor) .
I was privileged to hear about the project while on Moorea invited one evening by Eric and Florian at their home at the Linareva.
I was among the first guests at the Newly built pension Raimiti and have through the years returned many times and encourage so many to experience the pension Raimiti, it's location, the splendid cuisine and an ample supply of inspiration for photography.
You also find the what the Tahitian call Mana (spirit, source of energy) like in no other places around French Polynesia.
Since the loss of Eric, the founder of the property a few years back, His daughter Maluha has taken the helm of Raimiti and continued to offer such an unique experience away from the rest of the world.
All was fine until May 10, 2023.

Maluha here, the Captain at the Helm of the “Ship” RAIMITI on Fakarava where you had the pleasure to stay.
I am reaching out to share some bit of bad news ,
During the night of May 10 at 2 Am, the weather offered a bad surprise to us.
Here’s what was on the menu that late night:
For starters: a mixed rains Salad with every possible angle of attack, vertical, horizontal from above and diagonal.
For the Main course: Wind gusts Brochettes served with a sauce: “Never felt winds like these here before” .
For Dessert: Thunderbolt of Lightning with a Boom Box Coulis.
This was a very long night for the guests and our team.
This was a first for us after all these years on our little piece of coral. The morning light offered the sad sight of the broken welcome Tahitian house, Summer lounge, Library etc.
It took a few gusts of over 110 miles per hour coming from the South West to do the worst.
I am now calling all the guests through the years who had first set eyes on this building before arriving and last set wet eyes as you were departing. Many hours spent there resting, reading and doing siestas on hot days . Like the phoenix this hamlet of peace needs to come back from the ashes or pile of rubbles.
In order to help us to achieve this goal, we have created a fundraiser. Any contributions however modest will help us to get closer to this goal and allow to get the work done correctly to rebuild better..
Mauru ru roa to All - THANK YOU VERY MUCH !
Signed : Maluha and the team Raimiti
