Rebuild The Rainbow with Joshua & Michael
Donation protected
I am posting this on behalf of Michael + Joshua, for they need your help.
On October 7th, after spending the last seven months building a home together, they were wrongly evicted from their rental home. The Gwinnett Sheriff’s department gave them 10 minutes to gather what they could and then instructed them to leave the property; mind you, this was after no previous knowledge of this eviction was ever implemented. The authorities then gathered their belongings, including many family heirlooms, threw them in bags and boxes and literally threw them across their front and back yards. Since Michael and Joshua were told to leave the area, Most of their valuables were stolen in broad daylight, including their newly purchased Mattress, LED Flat Screen TVs, one-of-a-kind clocks, including two rare spinner clocks and an antique wall clock that can never be replaced. Most of their clothing, kitchen equipment, newly purchased gaming chairs and accent pieces were also taken.
They were never contacted about said eviction even though they showed the authorities receipts of payments to said property. The property management company only explained that they disapproved of their lifestyle and have since refused any more communications with their tenants. They even proceeded to do a final walk-through without either of the renters in attendance. So much of what happened was illegal, and the proper files have been, or are in the process of, filed. Even if it appears that this was done in haste, any court settlement can and will take years to be completed.
In the meantime, Michael and Joshua face the task of rebuilding the home that was needlessly taken from them, one that they invested much of their savings and energy to create. They want to replace those items that were stolen from them and have every right to recreate all that was taken from them. They are not looking to get anything back except what was wrongfully taken out of their possession. Even after they found a new place to live, they did not have a bed to sleep on, clothes to wear the next day to work, or even shoes to wear, except what they already had on.
To rebuild is the daunting task of repurchasing all the essentials they already owned to try and recreate the life that the Authorities senselessly took from them. I can not express my anger or feelings of resentment toward everyone who took part in this seemingly hate crime that no human should ever have to go through. Regardless of what transpired from us in the past, I have enough integrity to know when wrong is wrong and will do everything on my part to make this right.
At the end of the day, I want to say that I did everything I could to help them out. But we can’t do this alone. As you can imagine, rebuilding one’s possessions of this magnitude comes at a tremendous cost - potentially a considerable amount more than we are attempting to raise. We have launched this campaign to help raise the money to cover these costs. Please consider supporting us in our final efforts to bring justice to these two. In any case, I speak for all of us when we say thank you for your love, support and generosity during this incredibly challenging time. Be well, and thank you.
