Hello
My name is Azra and this is my mission. The genocide that has occurred before our eyes has destroyed the houses and buildings of many in Palestine. Despite the best efforts to call for ceasefire the world has watched in despair as the violence continues. My mission is to help one family at a time rebuild their home. This will take a long time and a lot of money. I have decided to take help from all of you generous people and get together to raise money for the rebuild of two houses initially in Gaza city , alremal , elrasheed street of Palestine. The first home we are collecting funds for is Ahmad Ghanim (Ahmad Nabil Ghanim Muhammad’s) family and his sisters home who is a journalist in Palestine and his whole families home has been brutally demolished by the Israeli bombardment. This is first hand account of his and his families situation so you can see how heart breaking this is for a family who have done absolutely nothing wrong apart from be Palestinian
Ahmad’s Story.
My story is the story of a very happy family. What they wanted most was to live in the safety of their house, which was built on the blood sweat and tears of our ancestors. A house maintained by its owner after six wars on Gaza and seventeen confrontations, including now this genocide. Unfortunately this dream of a home for a family became a nightmare.
Journalist: I am Ahmed Nabil Muhammad, who lost members of my family in the ongoing wars on Gaza, a family that lost in this war the most precious thing they had: the home, the safety the comfort and warmth. We were ripped away from our loved ones and were separated not knowing when fate will ever bring us together if at all?! After complete destruction by mass weapons of war, left behind in the shadows, were pieces of rubble that once was our home under abuses we loved. This rubble was not just walls and furniture, but rather long lasting childhood dreams, memories, and years of laughter of our children, grandmothers, and family.
This is not only my story but my sisters story and the story of every Palestinian. Banished from our homes and left to the mercy of the cold and brutality of the winter temperature and overcrowded unsafe inhabitable refugee camps.
You may be thinking why would you donate to me? I say because of the fact that the toil of 17 years of journalistic work has been wasted and destroyed and I am trying hard to collect every dollar to buy the house of my dreams and the dreams of my family and children and every day they wake up to rubble?
This house for me is everything I have in this life. I was exposed to danger and targeting during my work as a journalist because they want to suppress the truth and it brought me, my family, my children, and many beautiful memories at home to devastation.
Because my children loved the house with the beautiful balconies overlooking the sea, now they only have rubble and they have lost their toys and beautiful bedrooms, which they still dream of returning to. So I ask for your help so through your humanity we may one day have a chance of a home.
I’m afraid of my daughter’s innocent questions, they scare me. She always asks me “when we will return home, Dad?”and I lie to her that she will return soon, and she asks about her closet, clothes, and toys.
I lie because I feel that if I share the tragedy of the people in Gaza, and many families my sisters my neighbours are facing it will be too much for her to handle. My family also lost their home, and we will share your donations with them too to rebuild their homes also. We are all still paying for our houses which are now nothing but a pile of rubble. How heart breaking I cannot put into words. No place to call out own no item to reminisce with just dust dust and nothing more.
Please gift me and my family some hope in your donations otherwise we will have, not only no hope but no reason to live. As we have nothing but a pile of dust to sit on to protect us. May god bless you for listening to my story and for your donations. Please see what we lost below in the before and after pictures.
