Rebuilding Our Wildlife Corridors & Strengthening Our Community

Our community is stepping up to restore the natural corridors that connect our bushland, protect our wildlife, and bring people together. We’re raising funds to rebuild and create safe, thriving pathways for native animals, and to grow the community spaces & activities that make Dawesville a place we’re proud to call home.

This project is 100% volunteer‑driven, and every dollar goes directly into hands‑on work that benefits both nature and our neighbourhood.

What We’re Working To Achieve

1. Restore & Reconnect Wildlife Corridors
We’re rebuilding the green pathways that allow kangaroos, birds, reptiles & pollinators to move safely through our landscape. To do this, we need:
- native seedlings & trees
- mulch & soil improvement
- kangaroo & rabbit protection guards
- hand tools & electric tools
- shade shelters & seating for volunteers

These corridors are essential for biodiversity, climate resilience & the long‑term health of our local bushland.

2. The She Shed - A Safe, Creative Space for Women
We’re creating a welcoming space where women can learn new skills, build confidence & connect with others. To bring the She Shed to life, we need:
- electric tools & hand tools
- paints, brushes & creative supplies
- tables, seating & storage
- aprons & safety gear

This will be a place for learning, laughter & community support, a space where women can thrive.

3. Free Community Activities for All Ages
We want to offer regular, accessible activities that bring people together, including:
- kite‑flying days
- bike & scooter care workshops
- nature walks & citizen‑science events
- seed‑bombing sessions to restore wildflowers for our pollinators

These activities build community pride, teach practical skills & help families connect with nature.

4. Protecting Our Beaches & Sand Dunes
Our coastline is under pressure. We’re working to:
- remove microplastics from our beaches
- protect & stabilise our sand dunes
- safeguard wildlife habitat
- educate the community about dune care

Healthy dunes protect our homes, our beaches & our wildlife.

5. Growing Our Annual Community Christmas Party
Each year, our Christmas Party brings joy, connection & celebration to local families. As Dawesville grows, so does the need for:
- sweets
- children’s activities
- volunteer support

Your contribution helps keep this event free, inclusive & magical.

6. A Covered Trailer for Tools & Supplies
To run all these projects safely & efficiently, we need a covered trailer to transport:
- tools
- plants
- event equipment
- She Shed materials
- dune‑care supplies

This will allow us to respond quickly to community needs and care for multiple sites.

Why Your Support Matters
Every contribution, big or small, helps us protect our environment, empower our community & create a healthier, more connected future for Dawesville.

You’re not just donating.
You’re helping rebuild corridors for wildlife.
