Hi I'm Tasia and on April 6, 2025 i was in a devastating car accident. I suffer from multiple ailments of the lumbar and thoracic spine. My fiance was driving my Prius and made a legal left turn at a protected light, when a Lexus came barreling down the streets of San Francisco and plowed into us, causing my car to be totaled. I spent my life savings on purchasing and upkeeping my beloved vehicle. I have been physically unable to work or earn an income and am considered disabled since August 2022 since first getting diagnosed with cauda equina due to severely herniated discs and spinal stenosis. I underwent laminectomy and discectomy surgery in Feb 2024, with little to no relief and am in talks of scheduling an anterior posterior 360 fusion for my worsening condition, and have developed a pars fracture, and as well have an upcoming bone graft scheduled for April 29. All of my surgeons and appointments are across the bridge and average an hour drive, i am reliant upon a safe vehicle for transportation. Public transportation wreaks havoc on my already fragile spine and as it is, i already I need a special padded seat to travel with even in my own car.

We were unable to obtain the other driver's insurance information, as the police had to physically separate him from my fiance when the driver wouldn't stop yelling at him and my mother as I was being hauled out in an ambulance.

My insurance totaled my car because they determined it needs $13,000+ of repairs and will never be safe to drive again. The frame is bent and the front is demolished.

The repair shop told me that if my fiance hadn't turned the wheel when he did to attempt to avoid impact when he realized that the Lexus wasn't stopping, going at roughly 40mph, that where the initial point of impact would have occured would have caused the engine and entire car to blow up which more than likely would have claimed the lives of all 4 of us including my parents in the backseat.

I will be taking an $11,000 loss on my car and have no means of my own transportation or way to pay for it. I am still waiting on the police report to be made available and hope to be able to sue the individual who put me in this position.
