We are being evicted and will be homeless by end of April.
To survive these past few years, I liquidated my entire IRA and exhausted my savings. We have no financial means, and no support despite reaching out to every available resource we know of.
After relocating to Pasadena in 2019, I have experienced unprecedented, repeated layoffs beyond my control stemming from employer restructuring changes.
My eldest daughter who resides with me also contributes to the household, she lost her job due to the Eaton Fire and despite her ongoing efforts has not been able to find employment in this highly saturated Los Angeles job market.
Thankfully a friend of my youngest daughter came forth and saved my car from repossession so now we will retain our own transportation and have safe shelter if need be
Also, I am guardian to beloved animals who depend on us for their wellbeing:
• Belzara, my 9-year-old Samoyed who is diabetic and requires daily insulin injections
• and our senior cats who also need safety and stability
We are maintaining positivity and optimism. We are using this helpless situation to make a change and have decided to move to Utah where the job market is better and living expenses more reasonable.
Without your help we will be on the streets in our car without any way to rise above.
This is what we need:
Immediate:
$4,230 rent in arrears (March and April) this will allow us to not face legal repercussions and give us the rest of April to pack and move
Safety in this situation:
$2,000-3,000 a used cover cargo trailer to keep some of our belongings
Pets:
$500 health, wellbeing, and medical needs
Relocation:
$500 gas and minor car maintenance for driving safety
$3,000 for extended-stay hotel to land until we secure employment and an apartment
$5,000- 15,000 a foundation to build from
Anything more will just make this transition in our life smoother and would be greatly appreciated!
With gratitude,
Candace and Emilee
