We the members of the St. Matthew Baptist Church are seeking your support to rebuild! Our home church, founded in 1875 and rebuilt in 1970, is the hallmark of the Chestnut community. Our legacy has thrived for over 147 years, and although we are small in number, we are large in the Spirit of God. Thus, we ask whosoever will, let them give.

We believe in the Word of God who said, "Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you." (Matthew 7:7) So we are asking for all who will, give so that the doors of a new St. Matthew Baptist Church will be opened in the name of our Lord & Savior Jesus Christ!

Our current church is beyond repair as the roof is worn and our fellowship hall is sinking. A group of Christian builders and construction volunteers have graciously agreed to rebuild our beloved sanctuary for free as long as we can purchase the materials. Our goal is to begin construction in January 2024. We know our goal is ambitious, but thru Christ, we know that all things are possible. Please reply with any questions, comments, or concerns.
