Dear friends and supporters,
Sri Lanka is facing a devastating crisis. Cyclone Ditwah and the resulting landslides have taken lives, displaced hundreds of thousands, and left over a million people in urgent need of food, water, shelter, and medical care. Communities, hospitals, and schools have been severely damaged, and countless families are grieving and struggling to survive. Our nation has endured war, natural disasters, economic hardship, and tragedy, yet every time, we have risen together. Today, we must do so again.
In moments like these, our unity as Sri Lankans—Sinhalese, Tamil, Muslim, Burgher, Malay, and all others—becomes our greatest strength. We are deeply grateful to the Sri Lankan government, medical teams, first responders, volunteers, and international partners for their tireless efforts. However, the scale of this disaster requires much more support. As President of the Voice of Sri Lankan Muslims in North America, I am launching this special fund to support rebuilding healthcare in affected regions and restoring schools by providing essential supplies and support to children.
Funds raised will go directly to families and schools in the hardest-hit areas, helping them recover and rebuild. We are committed to full transparency and serving all communities without distinction. We call upon all individuals, organizations, and friends of Sri Lanka to join us. Every contribution becomes a lifeline for a family in need. Together, let us be the hands that lift Sri Lanka in her time of need.
With prayers and solidarity,
Siraj Salahudeen
