Our Southwark Mediation Centre offices were involved in a car crash in December 2018 and rendered unlivable. We have been moved to temporary accommodation. Despite it's small size, low quality technology, and underground location, we can survive working here. But our clients deserve better.
We work to help vulnerable people escape from conflict. They are often the hardest hit: children with divorcing parents - low on money and time to spend in courts; people trapped in toxic relationships, workplaces and residences; communities, feeling disadvantaged and ignored, which fall into distrust; kids who are bullied at school.
We don't need too much, but the people we try to help deserve a service fit for them. We're looking to raise £23,000 by April 2020 to rebuild our service. Any money you can give will be hugely appreciated.
It would go towards reconstructing our offices and building more mediation spaces so that vulnerable clients can feel safe and comfortable in professional hands; it would get our computer systems back to full capacity so that parents don't have to wait an extra month for access to their kids because of a technological error; it would free up money to rebuild our school mediation program which, using its student mediators network, helps to mediate between rival groups and gangs in schools, already successful in preventing real violence.
Please have a look our video showing the kind of help we can give. Any donation at all, or even just sharing our message, would be greatly appreciated.
