️ Help South Coast Farmers Rebuild After Hurricane Melissa

Hello everyone, my name is Sasha, and I’m from Spring Ground, located on the South Coast of Manchester, Jamaica — a region known as the breadbasket of the island, where generations of farmers have grown the food that sustains our nation.

I’m raising funds on behalf of the hardworking farmers and families of the South Coast of Manchester, who have suffered catastrophic losses from Hurricane Melissa. This storm set the land to rest — flattening crops, uprooting fruit trees, flooding livestock pens, and destroying the livelihood of countless farming families overnight.

At this time, the full extent of the damage cannot even be seen. Roads are severely damaged, leaving many areas in South Manchester — completely cut off. Power and internet outages have made it nearly impossible for farmers to communicate, call for help, or share the true scale of the devastation. The only available photos are of the farms before Hurricane Melissa, taken before everything was destroyed.

These are not strangers to me. These are my neighbors, family, and friends — the people who rise before dawn to work the soil and provide food for markets, schools, and households across Jamaica. I have witnessed their dedication firsthand, and I know they can rebuild if we come together to help.

How Your Donations Will Be Used
Every dollar raised will go directly toward immediate recovery and replanting efforts, including:
Crop Recovery: Replanting essential produce such as tomatoes, bell peppers (sweet peppers), green onions (scallion), watermelon, cassava, and other local staples.

Livestock Replacement: Restocking lost goats, chickens, and animal feed to help small farmers restart their livelihood.
Infrastructure Repair: Rebuilding irrigation systems, greenhouses, fencing, and water storage tanks destroyed by the storm.
Emergency Relief: Providing food, seeds, tools, and household supplies to families who lost everything.
Community Replanting Initiative: Supporting shared equipment and seedling programs to restore the farmland that supports the South Coast’s food supply.

The South Coast farmers of Manchester are the breadbasket of the island, and without swift recovery, we fear famine will soon arise. These farmers feed not only their own communities but the entire nation — and right now, they urgently need our help.

Please donate whatever you can — even $10 helps buy seeds or feed to start again.

If you can’t donate, please share this campaign with friends, family, and your social networks. Every share helps spread awareness and brings us closer to recovery.

Let’s come together as one island, one people, and help bring life back to the fields of Spring Garden and Jamaica’s South Coast.

Thank you for standing with our farmers.
