Dear Friends, Neighbors, and Supporters,
Our hearts are completely broken. On 9th June 2026, Sham Supermarket in Belfast—a place built with love, hard work, and a dream to serve our beautiful community—was targeted, vandalized, and set on fire during the recent anti-immigration unrest.
As you can see from the pictures, the destruction is total. What was once a vibrant, clean, and welcoming grocery store, stocked with fresh food and essential goods for local families, has been reduced to ashes, melted shelves, and rubble. After on;y three months since reopening again as it was destroyed before in 2024. Only three months of dedication and honest hard work were destroyed in just a single night of senseless violence.
Sham Supermarket was more than just a business; it was a proud part of Belfast’s diverse community, serving everyone with a smile. This devastating fire hasn’t just destroyed a building and its stock—it has threatened the livelihood of an innocent families who only wished to contribute positively to the city they call home.
But we refuse to let hate have the last word. Belfast is a city known for its resilience, its warmth, and its incredible community spirit.
We are launching this GoFundMe campaign to help the owners of Sham Supermarket clean up the wreckage, recover from this immense financial loss, and completely rebuild from the ground up. Every single penny raised will go directly to the families to cover immediate emergency costs, structural repairs, and replacing the ruined stock.
