Contribute to the rebuilding of schools in Gaza, Palestine!
By the will of Allah swt we hope to raise $10,000 to go towards the rebuilding of schools in Gaza Palestine. The funds raised will be donated through Sadaqa.org.
This fundraiser is being run as Sadaqa jariyah by the grandchildren of the late hajjeh Fatima Almadani who returned to her creator on 1 January 2023.
Teta Fatima was a wife, mother, friend, grandmother and teacher. She was born and raised in a village in Tulkarm Palestine. At only 10 years old, Teta lived through the 1948 Nakba and her memories of a free Palestine were halted. A longing for a Free Palestine, like the one she remembered as a child, never left her, even while on her death bed.
Without sounding presumptuous, Teta was a mathematics genius. She topped every one of her classes - and her wits are what facilitated her journey to becoming a young teacher in Kuwait. Teta made the decision to move to Kuwait to pursue her passions of teaching, and to also support her family. Teta would return to Palestine during every holiday period.
Eventually Teta got married to our grandfather, a handsome agriculture teacher from Tulkarm. They had their first son in their family home in Tulkarm. Although, their dreams of raising a family in Tulkarm were promptly disrupted with the onset of the 1967 war in Palestine. Due to the restrictions in place by the Israeli occupation, the young family made the tough decision to leave Tulkarm and build their family in Kuwait. However, they never cut ties with Tulkarm and would return for several months a year during the summer break. In Kuwait they had 3 more children.
Fast forward a decade or two later, the family migrated to Amman, Jordan. Their children got married and migrated to Sydney, Australia. Years later, our grandparents followed our parents to Australia. After years in the country, they became citizens of Australia.
Teta lived a life of purpose, raising 4 children and 11 grandchildren with our late grandfather.
Throughout our childhood, Teta was a beacon of comfort and warmth. As we got older, we got to appreciate Teta for the intelligent, creative and fierce woman that she has always been. Teta taught us the importance of culture and deen and was the perfect representation of class and poise. She spoke with unmatched eloquence and intelligence, even at her old age.
It is only befitting for us to start this fundraiser as Sadaqah jaariyah for her, combining two of her greatest loves - Palestine and Teaching.
May Allah swt reward you for all for donating to the rebuilding of these schools in the name of our Teta.
