Rebuild Sara's Home and Community

My name is Sara, and I live in Weaverville, NC. I am a single mom to a special needs child. Western North Carolina has been devastated by Hurricane Helene. My town of Weaverville, NC, was particularly hard hit, and the first floor of my house flooded. The furniture was ruined by water. We will have no power or running water for at least three weeks, likely longer.

Asheville is SHUT DOWN, schools are closed indefinitely, the local business where I work is shut down indefinitely, and I have no income. I will need ServePro/water remediation and new furniture/rugs.

There is currently no power or gas in the region, and there are few open roads for us to leave. We plan to stay put, survive, rebuild, and help our neighbors rebuild. But we need help because this is devastating, especially as a single parent!

In addition to trying to provide for myself, I cook (on a grill and camp stove) for many neighbors in the same situation. I am also currently housing a friend whose home was destroyed in the storm. If you are able, please send funds to help. Please encourage FEMA and the National Guard to send supplies, fresh water, and emergency funds to ASHEVILLE AND WESTERN NORTH CAROLINA.
