Rebuild Rosebud Continuum After Hurricane Milton
Donation protected
Rosebud Continuum in Land O’ Lakes, FL is a 501(c)(3) sustainability education center offering tours, field trips, research and volunteer opportunities, and other events for our community. We are situated on 19 acres in Pasco County including uplands, wetlands, and many wooded areas. Over the last few years, we have endeavored to increase the trees and protect the land through permaculture. We have three greenhouses including an approximately 2500 sq ft hoophouse full of interactive demonstration displays used to educate the community in different aspects of sustainability.
Hurricane Milton paid us a visit. During his short stay, he destroyed our hoophouse and many of the displays inside. We also lost around 20 trees and many more are damaged creating great risks to safety. As a result, we are asking for help. Due to the safety concerns and lack of displays, we are closed until further notice. This closure means a loss of profits just when we need them most to be able to pay our staff, rebuild our infrastructure, and ensure safety for our visitors.
These are some of the expenses we are expecting to incur to safely reopen. We are still getting quotes and pricing materials and labor for these items:
tree service, hoophouse replacement, aquaponics relocation, displays, well pump repair, fences, loss of profits due to closure (field trips, tours, events, etc.)
Please see our website for more details and pictures.
