Help Support Rosa's Daycare and Home After Tornado
Donation protected
On the evening of May 16, 2025, an EF-3 tornado tore through South St. Louis, devastating homes and communities — including the home of Ms. Rosa Delgado, a beloved childcare provider and longtime advocate for homeless families in the city.
For over 20 years, Rosa has run an in-home daycare for low-income families, often offering free or reduced services for single parents and families in crisis. She has also volunteered at shelters and worked with local nonprofits to ensure children have access to stable care while their parents get back on their feet.
Now she’s the one who needs help.
When the tornado hit, Rosa’s home — which also served as her daycare — was completely destroyed. The roof was ripped off, windows shattered, and nearly everything inside was lost to wind and water damage. Thankfully, Rosa and the two children in her care at the time escaped unharmed, but she has lost her home, her business, and her livelihood overnight.

Why She Needs Our Support
Rosa has always been the one who shows up for others — whether it’s preparing meals for unhoused families or offering last-minute child care so a mother can attend a job interview. She’s a community cornerstone.
Now, Rosa needs us.
Funds from this campaign will go directly toward:
• Temporary housing and relocation costs
• Replacing daycare supplies and equipment
• Business recovery and licensing fees
• Basic necessities and support while she gets back on her feet
Organizer Statement
My name is Brianna Webb and I’ve known Rosa since my twins were in her care 8 years ago. When we were stressing about daycare and down on our luck, she stepped in and took our children without any hesitation. She became like family to us and to many other parents in the Carondelet and Dutchtown areas. Rosa has given everything to help others — and now it’s time to give back to her.
I’m organizing this fundraiser with her full permission. Every dollar will go directly to Rosa, and I’ll be posting updates to keep you all informed.
We were able to help Rosa with a temporary hotel; however, she has no family local and we aren’t in a position to do it all alone. We are hoping to be able to get her a place ASAP, to help her get back to helping others. Even during this time, she’s been extremely selfless and continues to try to help everyone else.
Even if you can’t donate, a thought, prayer, and a share would be amazing.
