Help Rebuild Riley's Jerky!
Fire insurance costs have spiked in the last 5 years while coverage has been minimized. The true cost of the rebuild for Riley’s Jerky will be $250,000 above what insurance is going to cover for this beloved local jerky factory. We have already raised over $25,000, and I know we can make the whole goal and help to restore this pillar in community. Every single dollar counts! Thank you for your donation.
The tragedy of the Dixie Fire has been heartbreaking to watch. My name is Benjamin Rubke, and I am the owner of Tackwell Co., a consulting firm in Tacoma, WA. I grew up in Greenville and am still actively connected to it (albeit from 600 miles away), I cannot express how important Riley’s Jerky is to the town of Greenville, CA, and the community of Plumas County at large.
I have had the pleasure of working with Riley’s Jerky as a client, and calling the owner, Kaley Bentz, a dear friend. His business is an inspiration of what true community support and connection should look like. From donating to the local schools, giving to rotary, to ensuring accessible sports for all kids, Riley’s Jerky gives back over and over again.
Riley’s Jerky has been a family-owned business for 40 years. As a boy, Kaley helped his grandfather build the facility. As a man, he readily made the move back to Greenville in 2016 when he had the opportunity to buy the business. Kaley has grown the company and increased staffing while maintaining the same principles his grandfather founded the company upon - a unique and quality product from a company that cares about its employees and town.
On August 4th, the Dixie fire burned Riley’s Jerky completely to the ground. I’m advocating for Riley’s Jerky from a realistic standpoint of what they truly need to rebuild.
Any amount raised above the construction costs will be donated to local non-profits and distributed to the residents and businesses of this community that have experienced such devastating loss. I am deeply tied to this community, and Riley’s Jerky is a pillar of the small economy that has been all but wiped out.
Please help us help this amazing company to rebuild!
