Last night around 8pm we lost my late dad's 25 year old shop, his little "man cave" that he build himself. So many memories and little things that are irreplaceable. The memories of my dad all over those walls. We spent the day in there, cleaning it up and getting ready for winter. We talked about all the little pieces of him, his little skull collection he found around the island, things he's found at the sacred grounds, all his little collections that i always thought we'd have. I feel like i lost all his hard work, but i also feel like he was watching out for us snd thats why we stepped out when we did.

Please this is a reminder to have your wood stove glass checked throughly. The glass on ours shattered, we just happened to walk inside to order some food and our shed was gone in flames within 10 minutes.

We lost everything... Our generators, tools, our lawn mower and side by side, all of our powwow, hunting, fishing and camping gear. Irreplacable tools my dad has had for years.

Almost everything we owned was stored in that shop. Everything estimated at 100k, nothing being covered by insurance.

I'm happy we are safe, our home is safe, and it's just stuff. But some of these things were essential for us living on a remote island. We are also just two 25 year olds fairly new to home ownership, we are not prepared to replace everything.
