Our family is asking for support after Hurricane Melissa devastated our multigenerational family property and the close-knit community of Struie, Westmoreland, Jamaica.

We built on this land in the 1960s, and for generations it has been the heart of our family — a place we all return to for comfort, connection, and tranquility. This fundraiser is for our entire family, and in honor of our matriarch, lovingly known as Miss Inez, whose strength, resilience, and legacy shaped everything we are today.

During this disaster, we tragically lost Miss Inez, who passed shortly after the hurricane due to its devastating impact.

She was strong, wise, deeply respected, and the foundation of our family’s legacy.

We are committed to honoring her by helping rebuild what she created and cared for over six decades.

The Impact

Hurricane Melissa caused severe damage throughout our community. Many homes and small businesses were destroyed, and recovery has been extremely difficult.

Our other family members who were on the property during the storm survived, but are deeply affected.

Communication has been limited, shelter is unstable, and they are doing their best to salvage what they can while navigating the emotional and practical aftermath.

As a relative living abroad, it has been incredibly difficult to watch this from afar. This fundraiser is one of the few ways I can support my family during this unimaginable time.
