We’re Bikeworks, a social enterprise using cycles as a tool for connection, belonging and joy. Every week, our All Ability Club brings together Disabled people, people with long-term health conditions, and their carers to ride, connect and feel free, often in the only space where they truly can.
Earlier this year, that was taken away.
Our secure cycle storage was broken into using industrial tools. Over £15,000 of specialist adaptive cycles were stolen, including our much-loved Fun2Go, a side-by-side cycle that means everything to this community.
This isn’t just a bike.
It’s confidence for someone rebuilding strength after a stroke.
It’s freedom for someone who thought cycling would never be possible for them.
It’s the one space where someone feels seen — and reminded they belong.
“A bike like this is the only way some of us can take part…”
“For us, All Ability cycling isn’t just about bikes — it’s about being able to take part.
When the cycles were stolen, we were devastated.
For some of us, this is the only way we can join in and feel part of something.
You only understand that kind of loss if you’ve felt excluded before.”
— Sue, All Ability rider
What is a Fun2Go — and why it matters
The Fun2Go is a side-by-side cycle, designed so two people can ride together, facing the same direction.
It’s one of our most loved and used cycles, because it's design makes it possible for someone who can’t ride a standard bike to still take part, side by side, with another person
moving together, talking together, and feeling equal.
For many of our community members, this is the only way they can cycle at all, and the only way they feel included rather than left out.
Help Us Bring the Fun2Go Home
We’re launching this appeal as we mark 19 years of Bikeworks, and get ready to build our 20th year with even greater impact.
Every contribution, whether £10, £20 or £50+, supports us bringing back the Fun2Go side-by-side cycle that so many of our community members rely on to take part, connect, and feel included again.
Help us put joy, movement and human connection back where it belongs.
Thank you — from all of us at Bikeworks, and from every rider waiting to feel free again.
