Hi, I'm Rachel. Eleven days ago I had a catastrophic accident which has changed my life forever.

I am currently in critical care in hospital with a severe spinal cord injury and my life has been torn apart. I am so scared about what my future will be from now on.

Before the accident, I had been struggling so much, a few months previously, I lost my grandad to alzeimers after caring for him for three years, all while getting out of a very violent ten year relationship which culminated with a scary and traumatic court proceeding. I was trying so hard to rebuild from zero and every day felt like I was at the bottom of a mountain, the nightmares and anxiety were awful. I didn't think things could get worse until now and I am wondering if I will walk, dance or run again.

I am in agony and relying on the medical professionals to get me through each day, I have weeks of hospitalisation ahead of me, followed by weeks in a rehabilitation facility where I will have to learn how to live with the repercussions of this life changing accident. I have no savings or employment currently and need to be able to to move my belongings to a more suitable, adapted home when I leave here as my flat has stairs and won't be suitable for me any more.

I don't know why I have set this go fund me up this morning, but I am hoping some good will come of it. If you can help, even if it's only to share my story, I really appreciate it. Thank you for reading.
