Hi everyone, my name is Kate and I am fundraising for my brother, Andrew Lawrence.

My dear brother has suffered for years with his legs & feet. doctors palmed him off with all sorts of wrong diagnosis, he continued to struggle on for years but eventually he found out that he had inherited Peripheral Arterial Disease (PAD) from our dad, the disease had progressed on to far which resulted in my brother having to have a leg bypass in January. His recovery went incredibly well but in the 11th week, post surgery, he had a blockage in his ankle and the hospital said he needed another bypass, which they did but unfortunately that surgery was short lived and he ended up with a swollen foot after just a few days. We then found out he had another blockage and he would need another surgery, an angioplasty, to try to balloon the artery to give his foot a chance.

Unfortunately, it’s with great sadness that his foot is dying and now needs a below the knee amputation, my heart is broken for him. He is only 43, his life will completely change and He will have a lot to over come, but I believe in my brothers mental strength, tenacity, courage, family and friends support, to get him through his ordeal.

This go fund me has been set up to get him the best prosthetic possible and to help relieve him of the financial burdens that he has been carrying and going through with the loss of his career as self employed skilled floor fitter.

Also, my brother and his partner will have to move from their rented house into something more manageable.

It’s all such a financial stress and struggle to have to cope with on top with everything they are currently facing.
