Hi, my name is Vanakay, I live in the UK and I’m fundraising for my Aunt Maxine and my Grandmother Monica, who both live in Westmoreland, Jamaica — one of the areas most devastated by Hurricane Melissa, the Category 5 storm that recently tore through the island.

Both of their homes were severely damaged during the hurricane. My aunt’s roof was completely destroyed, and most of her belongings were ruined by the heavy rain and flooding. My grandmother’s roof was also badly damaged, leaving her home exposed and unsafe. Thankfully, they are alive — but they’ve lost so much and are now struggling to rebuild from almost nothing.

The money would help them buy food, repair their roofs, and replace essential items like clothing and bedding. Every donation, no matter how small, will make a real difference in helping them get back on their feet and restore some sense of security and comfort after this disaster.
