Hit And Run Aftermath From Running A Red Light
Donation protected
On December 3rd, at approximately 12:50 a.m., my mother was coming home from her job at LAX. She was traveling east bound on Century blvd. On the corner of Van Ness and Century she came to a stop at a red light. She was on the left lane and another car was stoppeed next to her on the right lane. When the light turned green for them to GO, she turned to her left side and noticed a car traveling at full speed towards the intersection on Van Ness. She feared he wasn't going to stop for the red light. (And she was right) She stepped on the gas and was able to dodge the speeding car but the man traveling next to her (that's the car in the photos that is flipped) was struck sending the vehicle in a violent spiral ultimately causing that vehicle to hit my mother's (my mothers car is the red one in the photos) fortunately neither my mother nor the other driver suffered life threatening injuries. The other driver was taken to the hospital, my poor mother was so scared, she refused to go with the paramedics, so my sister in law and I took her. She was banged up pretty badly on her left side and has some pain on her right shoulder.
The driver of the vehicle which ran the red light fled the scene.
My mother is a hardworking, kind hearted, family oriented woman who's worked hard to reach her goals... that red car was one of her proudest achievements and since the other driver left and she only has liability insurance, she will not be covered...
I am reaching out to the community for help. Please, any little bit helps. I am trying to gather money to help her for lost wages and help buy her a new car. Even if a dollar is all you can donate, it will truly be appreciated.
Thank you all amd God bless.
