Rebuild Memories: Support Their Honeymoon

After a lot of consideration about whether to share this on social media, I’ve come to the conclusion that what happened to my husband and me last night is a heartless crime that deserves attention. While I didn’t initially want to speak out because I didn’t want it to overshadow this weekend, I feel it's important to spread awareness and hope that something like this never happens to anyone else.
After what was possibly the best weekend of our lives, filled with so much love and happiness, we returned home from Mexico and experienced something I never could have imagined.
We made a quick stop at the Irvine Spectrum to buy a gift for my sister-in-law. When we came back to our car, we immediately noticed it had been broken into, and all of our belongings from the wedding were gone.
They took my husband's tuxedo, the one he got married in, his watch that his dad had gifted him, his best man’s luggage, and our audiobook filled with messages from our wedding guests. These were meaningful items that can never be replaced. They also stole all of the honeymoon money that was given to us as a gift on our wedding day.
We understand that material things like clothes and shoes can be replaced, and that the real memories live in our hearts. But coming home to find that someone had invaded our space in such a personal way was heartbreaking.
Fortunately, my husband and I always try to focus on the positive. We won’t let this experience overshadow the joy of the weekend, and we are deeply grateful to have one another. If you would like to contribute to our honeymoon fund, it would be greatly appreciated, but most of all, we encourage you to spread love and positivity at all costs.
