Abaco rebuild of vet clinics and shelters

My name is Mark McKeown from Ontario Canada and I am raising money to help rebuild the vet clinics and shelter of Abaco Bahamas. While I do not live in Abaco I have family who have been displaced by the devastation of hurricane Dorian of Sept 1st 2019, specifically in the Marsh Harbor area, and would love the opportunity to help rebuild. All money raised will go directly to the rebuild of vet clinics and shelters, as well as helping the people of Abaco.

I am working with an organization called Abaco Connect run by Brittany Garvin who is gathering building supplies and necessities to funnel into the Bahamas, She is based out of South Carolina, but has a warehouses in Fort Lauderdale. Partnerships with the Municipality of Marsh Harbour, the Fire Department, businesses, and individuals have allowed her to gather 450 pallets of food, medical supplies, and building supplies, that are being or have been transported to Marsh Harbour. I am planning to go down again in August or September to aide with rebuilding efforts of the clinics and shelters, as most of the island is still without power and running water.

I have also connected with some second homeowners and we are hoping to collaborate to provide even more support for the communities on Abaco and the other islands that have been hit so hard.

I am currently approaching businesses to gather donations of building supplies and money, and All money raised through this Go Fund Me page will go directly towards building supplies and equipment for the clinics,shelters and people of Abaco.

Partnering with Brittany and the second homeowners means I have access to get these supplies to the islands and access to people there who will direct my efforts to where it is needed most. They are also providing me with a place to stay and food while I’m there volunteering.
