Help Sri Lanka Recover from Cyclone Ditwah:
As a fellow Sri Lankan, my heart aches to witness the devastation across our beautiful island. Those living in the low-lying and hard-to-reach areas have been hit the hardest — families who had so little to begin with, now left with nothing.
Fatalities
607 people were killed, with 214 missing - DMC
Displaced
Estimates range from ~1.2 million to 1.8 million people (roughly 6–8% of Sri Lanka’s 22 million or 448,817 families).
Roughly 233,000 people (64,483 families) in 1,441 relief centres.
The DMC evacuated about 43,991 people (12,313 families) into schools/public shelters during the storm.
Our Objective:
To help families with children in the most affected and remote communities of Sri Lanka recover from Cyclone Ditwah.
