My name is Novlyn, and I’m reaching out with a heavy heart. Hurricane Melissa has brought unimaginable devastation to Jamaica, especially to the community of Newell in St. Elizabeth—my beloved hometown where I was born and raised. Though I now live in Washington, DC, Newell remains close to my heart.

I’m organizing support for families in Newell who have lost their homes, belongings, and sources of income. Donations will go toward purchasing zinc sheets and other roofing materials, food, bed linens, clothing, and essential over-the-counter medicines.
