Rebuild Lives: C.R. and Gayle’s Flood Recovery

The video is Cowboy telling the fully story!

In the early morning hours of July 4, 2025, flooding of historic proportions hit the Texas Hill Country, leaving incredible loss of life and destruction in its wake. As the rainwater pushed down to the already swollen river waters, flooding continued on July 5th in the small Texas town of Bertram, decimating homes there.

C.R., aka Cowboy, and Mrs. Gayle found themselves in trouble as the waters continued to rise. In less than 30 minutes, the water breached the creek banks and filled the home, forcing C.R. and family to race for higher ground into the attic, where ultimately they had to kick out the side of the home to access the roof and await rescue. As the floodwaters receded, their home was left completely devastated. The water rushed in from the back of the home and out the front, taking with it over 60 years of their lives and leaving everything in the home a total loss.

Not only facing their own loss, their neighbor and son Ronnie endured the same tragic event in his own home.

In an attempt to salvage anything possible, family mementos that were left strewn across the water's path have been carefully collected and placed back into the family's hands. Insurance is offering zero assistance due to not having flood coverage on their home. After listening to C.R. recount their nightmare, we want to rally the troops and circle them as they begin to rebuild and furnish their homes. We want to help them see colorful life return to the front porch that is as big as Texas. A place where family gatherings and laughter will happen once again, honoring their pain, and meeting their hope and faith that fills their hearts. Let's be the hands and feet of Jesus today and give back to these amazing "salt of the earth" families and fill their golden years with joy as they begin again. 100% of proceeds raised will go directly to the Williamson families.

I had the honor of leading amazing Sheep Dog Impact Assistance volunteers alongside with Dustin and Cassandra Current to help the Williamson family begin to rebuild.

In order to get the momentum going I put up the first $10,000.
