In Honor of my Mom: Help Rebuild the Lives of her Caregivers Families Devastated by Hurricane Melissa
My sister Lauren and I are reaching out to our friends and family to help the families of our mom's caregivers. Lauren lives in Florida and I live in North Carolina.
Suzette and Beverly were caregivers for our mom for 2 years until she passed on Valentines Day of 2025. While we have never created a fund raiser before, we felt strongly that we needed to give back to these incredible woman who gave so much to our mom.
Here is our story:
Over the past two years, two incredible women, Suzette and Beverly cared for our mom with boundless love, compassion, and dignity. They were more than caregivers — they became family. Through every moment of our mom’s journey, they stood by her side, comforting, supporting, and bringing love and laughter to mom until her passing. We could not have done it without them!
Now, after the recent devastating hurricane in Jamaica, they are the ones who need our help. Both of these wonderful women have loved ones back home who have lost so much — homes damaged, communities flooded, and essential supplies wiped out. They’ve spent their days caring for mom, and now we have the chance to care for them.
We are raising funds to help them support their families and communities in Jamaica — providing money for flood repairs, food, clean water, clothing, and medical supplies. Every dollar will go directly to helping their loved ones recover and rebuild.
They were our mom’s guardian angels during her most vulnerable days. This is our way of honoring that love — by helping them bring hope and relief to those they love most.
Please consider donating whatever you can. No gift is too small — every bit makes a real difference. And if you can’t give, sharing this campaign would mean the world to us.
From the bottom of our hearts — thank you for helping us give back to two extraordinary women who gave so much.
With gratitude,
Robin and Lauren
