Patrick and Mary Gothard are my aunt and uncle, a well known couple in their 70s who lost their home in the SoCal fires happening this week. For years, they have lived in Altadena and worked to bring awareness to the rich art community within as the founders of the Open Studios art walk. Patrick is a prolific painter whose hundreds of works are now gone. Mary is a lifelong crafter, quilter and photographer. Both are also active members of their local community garden. As with everyone in the area, this loss comes suddenly and as a huge devastation. Any and all donations to help rebuild their lives, replace what can be replaced and find a new home, is welcome and very much appreciated.
