We are Roan and Riquetta Brown. We live in the US but Roan was born and raised in Jamaica and still has very close ties to the country, family and friends there. As you all know, Hurricane Melissa swept through Jamaica leaving catastrophic damage. Entire communities were wiped out. Currently, there are thousands of Jamaicans without food, clean water, and shelter, including our relatives.

Again, Hurricane Melissa Hit Home hard and we are thankful for lives being spared. However, infrastructures are damaged badly and some homes are totally lost. We have more than 20 immediate relatives whom are now houseless in St. Elizabeth and St James combined.

Our pre-planned trip to Jamaica (in 5 weeks) has transitioned from time with friends and family to one of recovery and restoration. We are raising funds to not only ship barrels of non-perishable food, clothes, personal hygiene items, and tools but also funds for lumber and other necessities to rebuild our relatives’ homes.
