Yesterday, our lives changed in an instant. The Pack fire at McGee changed everything. A fire destroyed our home and everything inside—our clothes, our belongings are all gone. My parents and I have lived in that house for 19 years. It was the only home I have ever known, and now it is gone. This is all very heartbreaking and overwhelming.
We are grateful to be safe, but we are completely starting from scratch. Right now, we are focusing on the essentials we need: clothes, hygiene items, food, temporary housing, and how we are going to rebuild our life. I want to be clear, do not feel any pressure to donate anything. If you are willing, I ask you to keep our neighbors in mind. They are struggling. Your prayers, love, and kindness to anyone impacted mean so much.
Our entire community has been overwhelmingly supportive and helpful in this time of loss and tragedy. We are truly grateful for our community—we could not get through this without you. Thank you to everyone that has reached out; we appreciate all of you.
