Together We Rise: Supporting Edlie's Journey Forward

Donation protected
On Saturday, August 10, 2024, in Lafayette, Indiana, Edlie's spouse wounded her so severely in a vicious attack that her skull was fractured. Suffering from shock and severe pain, she drove herself to the hospital.

Never did it cross her mind what her husband would do after she left.

Edlie's husband has been charged with the murder of their baby, Jacob and Edlie is in rehabilitation and will have a long road to recovery.

Please consider donating to help Edlie as she heals and is tasked with rebuilding her life in the wake of this unthinkable tragedy. Your donations will cover Edlie's rent, utilities, groceries, transportation, and other basic living necessities.

Together, we can make a difference.

Edlie's Words:

"My name is Edlie Delvaris. In the 7th month of my pregnancy, I became very sick with preeclampsia and had to quit my job as a corrections officer in Indianapolis, IN. I had a child, a boy, who died at age 3 from kidney disease, and so when I became pregnant with Jacob, I was determined to take good care of my body, and I did.

I followed all of my doctor's orders and kept my baby safe. I vowed to protect Jacob always if God would bless me with him. Jacob was born 3 weeks prematurely on May 6, 2024, weighing less than 5 pounds. When he was a little over 5 pounds, I was allowed to take him home.

I fell in love with Jacob instantly.

He was my gift from God, my second chance to be a mother. I was full of joy with the knowledge that I was Jacob's mother and that I would spend the rest of my life loving him.

At 3 months, Jacob would fall asleep after a bath and sleep through the whole night. He was chatty and very happy. My mother came to stay with us and she and I loved nothing more than to take care of Jacob.

All I wanted to do was to keep him safe. I didn't realize August 10th would be my last day with him. Every day I thanked God for Jacob. I loved him so much."

Your donations will go directly to Edlie and will support her as she navigates life after tragic and senseless loss. Thank you.

Community partners will conduct a furniture and household item donation drive. This page will be updated once an Amazon wishlist and donation drop-off locations are secured.
