Rebuild Kelly & Adrian’s Home and Animal Shelter After Fire

Hello everyone, my name is Maria Pires and I’m fundraising for a very good friend of mine, Kelly and Adrian.

Kelly and Adrian live in the rural area of Medelim, Idanha-a-Nova, Portugal. Our farms share borders. We are neighbours, bust above all, good friends!

Unfortunatly, on the night from 28th to 29th July 2025, the surroundings from our village (Medelim) were devastated by a wildfire which resulted on a complete destruction of all Kelly’s and Adrian’s property. They lost their home and animal shelter.

For many years, Kelly and Sean have dedicated their lives to helpless dogs and cats that found their way to Kelly’s arms. Together, they’ve build a shelter for all the helpless animals and did everything under the legislation, treated them with care, love and as family.

Once the fire got them, they managed to save what’s more important. Their own lives and all the dog’s lives as well.

They stand at this moment with absolutely nothing besides a burned down site.

In order to rise their home from the ashes, they’ll need a new caravan, generator (or other power supplies) and construction material in order to rebuild the animal shetlter. Besides all property lost, they also have in their care dogs that need special treatment and medical care.

Clothing for both of them and supplies for the dogs will also be needed, such as medicine, blankets and food.

After years of giving to the community, it’s time for us to give back.

All funds will go directly to Kelly and Adrian so they can rebuild their home, animal shelter and all mentioned above.

Hallo zusammen,

mein Name ist Maria Pires und ich sammle Spenden für sehr gute Freunde von mir – Kelly und Adrian.

Kelly und Adrian leben im ländlichen Gebiet von Medelim, Idanha-a-Nova, Portugal. Unsere Höfe grenzen aneinander. Wir sind Nachbarn – aber vor allem gute Freunde!

Leider wurden in der Nacht vom 28. auf den 29. Juli 2025 die Umgebung unseres Dorfes (Medelim) von einem verheerenden Waldbrand heimgesucht, der das gesamte Eigentum von Kelly und Adrian zerstört hat. Sie haben ihr Zuhause und das Tierheim verloren.

Viele Jahre lang haben sich Kelly und Adrian liebevoll um hilfsbedürftige Hunde und Katzen gekümmert, die den Weg in Kellys Arme gefunden haben. Gemeinsam haben sie ein Tierheim aufgebaut, das allen gesetzlichen Anforderungen entsprach – und sie behandelten die Tiere mit Liebe, Fürsorge und wie Familienmitglieder.

Als das Feuer kam, konnten sie das Wichtigste retten: ihr eigenes Leben und das Leben aller Hunde.

Aktuell stehen sie mit absolut nichts da – außer einer verbrannten Fläche.

Um ihr Zuhause aus der Asche wieder aufzubauen, benötigen sie einen neuen Wohnwagen, einen Generator (oder andere Energiequellen) und Baumaterialien für den Wiederaufbau des Tierheims. Neben dem Verlust ihres Eigentums kümmern sie sich weiterhin um Hunde, die spezielle Pflege und medizinische Versorgung benötigen. Auch Kleidung für Kelly und Adrian sowie Versorgungsgüter für die Hunde wie Medikamente, Decken und Futter werden dringend gebraucht.

Nach all den Jahren, in denen sie der Gemeinschaft gegeben haben, ist es nun an der Zeit, etwas zurückzugeben.

Alle Spenden gehen direkt an Kelly und Adrian, damit sie ihr Zuhause, das Tierheim und alles Notwendige wieder aufbauen können.

Olá a todos,

O meu nome é Maria Pires e estou a angariar fundos para dois grandes amigos meus, a Kelly e o Adrian.

A Kelly e o Adrian vivem na zona rural de Medelim, Idanha-a-Nova, Portugal. As nossas quintas são vizinhas – somos vizinhos, mas acima de tudo, grandes amigos!

Infelizmente, na noite de 28 para 29 de julho de 2025, a nossa aldeia (Medelim) foi devastada por um incêndio florestal que resultou na destruição completa da propriedade da Kelly e do Adrian. Perderam a casa e o abrigo dos seus animais.

Durante muitos anos, a Kelly e o Adrian dedicaram-se a acolher cães e gatos abandonados que, de uma forma ou de outra, encontraram refúgio nos braços da Kelly. Juntos, construíram um abrigo com todas as condições legais, trataram os animais com carinho, respeito e como membros da família.

Quando o fogo chegou, conseguiram salvar o mais importante: as suas próprias vidas e a vida de todos os cães.

Neste momento, estão sem nada – restou apenas um terreno queimado.

Para conseguirem reerguer-se, precisam urgentemente de um novo caravana, um gerador (ou outra fonte de energia), e materiais de construção para reconstruir o abrigo dos animais. Para além da perda da propriedade, continuam a cuidar de cães que necessitam de tratamentos especiais e cuidados médicos. Também precisam de roupa, medicamentos, cobertores e ração para os cães.

Depois de tantos anos a darem à comunidade, chegou a hora de retribuirmos.

Todos os fundos angariados irão diretamente para a Kelly e o Adrian, para que possam reconstruir o seu lar, o abrigo dos animais e tudo o que for necessário.
