Rebuild Kathy’s Salon

Hello, my name is Kathy Xiong. I’m a licensed cosmetologist, a bridal hair and makeup artist, a military wife, and most importantly, a proud mother of two. I’ve been doing makeup since 2012 and officially became a business owner in 2018, building KVX Bridal and Beauty from the ground up with passion, late nights, and unwavering dedication.

I specialize in bridal and enjoy helping women feel confident and radiant on one of the most important days of their lives. I love to travel to meet all clients and build long-term relationships — so when my kit was stolen, I didn’t just lose products… I lost the ability to work, to provide, and to show up for the people who rely on me.

On July 6th at 4:00 am, my salon in Fresno, CA was broken into. They shattered the glass and stole my products. They took my professional makeup kit, hair styling products, makeup brushes, lashes, and retail items — things that I’ve built over the years as a full-time bridal hair and makeup artist.

This was more than just products — this was my lifeline, my second home, my full-time business, and how I support my family. Every single item took years of hard work, early mornings, and late nights to build.

I want to say how forever grateful I am to the beauty community, my clients, friends, and family for coming together and pouring your love and strength into me. Your endless support — whether it’s been messages, donations, gifts, reposts, or just kind words — has carried me through this painful experience more than you know.

But the truth is, even with the incredible kindness and support I’ve received, I’m still climbing my way out of the aftermath. Rebuilding my kit — the brushes, tools, and high-quality products I’ve carefully collected and relied on for years — comes at a cost that insurance simply can’t cover. These weren’t just supplies; they were an extension of my artistry, my livelihood, and my way of making others feel beautiful.

And now, on top of that, I’m facing the unexpected burden of repairing the shattered salon window — a painful reminder of the break-in — and paying out of pocket for added protection to help prevent something like this from ever happening again.

As a mom trying to create stability for my children, every dollar counts. The unexpected costs have deeply impacted my financial goals, making it harder to balance my business and personal life. This outcome has made it harder to stay afloat while I try to rebuild what was lost. It’s overwhelming, but I’m holding onto hope and doing everything I can to keep pushing forward and rebuild stronger than before.

If you’re able to donate or continue sharing this post, please know it makes a real impact. Every contribution brings me one step closer to getting back on my feet and doing what I love most: making people feel beautiful and confident on their special day.

An alternative way to show your support is by booking a hair or makeup appointment with me at the salon, referring a friend, or simply sharing my work. Every bit of support counts and means the world to me right now. I appreciate your time for reading this, for your empathy, and your continued support.

With all my heart, thank you for standing with me in this. I’ll rebuild — stronger, wiser, and even more grateful.

With love,
Kathy
