My name is Shane Brown, and I was born and raised in Dunnsville, Ocho Rios, St. Ann, Jamaica. Although I now live in the United States, my heart remains deeply connected to my island home. On October 28, 2025, Hurricane Melissa struck Jamaica with devastating force, destroying homes, displacing families, and leaving many without food, clean water, or medical care. Entire communities have been left in ruins.
As a proud Jamaican, it is heartbreaking to witness the pain and struggle of our people—mothers comforting hungry children, elders without shelter, and families trying to hold on to hope. But Jamaicans are resilient. We are a people of faith, courage, and love. I am personally coordinating this relief effort to deliver essential supplies directly to those in need, with the help of my family and neighbors in Jamaica. The most urgent needs right now include batteries, solar lamps, flash lights, first aid kits, tarps, clean water, non-perishable food, items for children, and sanitary items for women. Supplies will be sent within a few weeks to help families begin to rebuild and recover.
With your support, we can provide relief and hope to those who have lost so much. Every donation, no matter the size, brings us closer to helping Jamaica rise again. I will share photo updates as supplies reach families, so you can see the impact of your generosity. If you have questions or want to help further, you can contact me by email. Thank you for your compassion and support as we work together to lift up our community.
