Thank you so much to everyone who reached out to check on my mum, Beverley Smalling, after Hurricane Melissa. We're relieved to share that she is safe, and thankfully, our house in May Pen was not badly affected.

It’s been tough seeing the impact of the hurricane unfold. The storm was devastating, leaving many families in surrounding parishes without homes, power, or reliable access to clean water. These are the neighbours and community members Mum knows personally - places we've visited on our many trips there - and we feel a deep need to help them rebuild their lives.

Mum is focusing her energy on those who are likely to be left out of the general relief plans. She’s teaming up with a small, trusted group of friends to make sure aid gets directly to the most remote and vulnerable families in the badly affected districts of St. Elizabeth and Hanover. This campaign is our way to support their effort on the ground.

Where Your Donation Will Go:

Your donation will be used to provide two critical types of aid, ensuring the fastest, most effective help possible:

1. Immediate Safety & Sanitation:

* Light & Shelter: We'll be purchasing solar lights for those without power and tarpaulin for emergency rain protection.

* Water & Health: This includes water sterilisation tablets, disinfectant, water boots, and non-perishable food items.

2. Essential Rebuilding Materials:

* Structure: We need materials like waterproof roof membrane, blocks, cement, sand, gravel, hurricane straps, zinc, 2x2 lumber, and boards for board houses.

* Finishes/Fixtures: Windows, doors, paint, and tiles.

* Tools: Basic items like hammers, saws, and buckets to support the rebuilds.

Every single dollar, pound, or dirham donated here will be used immediately to purchase and distribute these essential supplies. There are no overhead costs, no administrative fees, and no funds diverted to large charities or government agencies. We promise to provide regular updates and photos/videos showing exactly how your money is spent.
