Subject: Help Rebuild My Home After Devastating Fire
Dear friends, family, and compassionate supporters,
I am reaching out with a heavy heart to share some difficult news. Recently, a devastating fire destroyed the family home (1735 Arlington Ave, Shreveport, LA) of Mr. Ivory J. Gilliam (affectionately known as "Ivory Joe"). His mother left him this house when she passed several years ago. For years, Ivory Joe kept fire insurance on his home, but recently, when the economy went bad and prices increased, he could not afford to pay the premium. The house next door to Ivory Joe caught fire, and the fire spread and damaged the side of his house. Ivory Joe is on a very limited, fixed income and can only really pay his bills and eat. All he has is a few clothes, dishes, and a little linen and towels, but everything else got ruined by the water from the fire department. Right now, all Ivory Joe needs is enough to fix his roof, ceiling, and walls, so he can get his electric and gas fixed and turned on.
In a matter of moments, everything he had built, cherished, and held dear was lost.
The fire has left his home severely damaged, and the repairs required to make it livable again are beyond what he can manage alone. The cost of repairing the structure, replacing essential items, and ensuring safety measures to prevent future incidents is overwhelming.
We are humbly asking for any assistance you might be able to provide. Our goal is to raise enough funds to repair his home and start piecing his life back together. Every dollar, every share, and every word of encouragement counts and will help him move forward from this tragedy.
Any support you can provide, whether through a donation or simply sharing our story, would mean the world to him. If you are unable to contribute financially, please consider sharing this campaign with your network of people and friends to help spread the word.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your kindness, generosity, and support during this incredibly challenging time. Let's make this a TRUE Merry Christmas for IVORY JOE!!! We look forward to the day he can invite his grand kids back to his home to enjoy some quality family time during his last years.
With all our gratitude and hope,
Samuel W. Glass Sr and the residents 1700 Block of Arlington Ave.
