Imagine waking up every day to the constant sounds of war and violence. Now imagine that one day, finally, the war ends, and there's hope that people can start living again. So you go out to work and when you come back home you find that there is no home left. That despite a ceasfire, the home you have poured your energy and your love into, that holds all the memories of three generations, has been leveled to the ground by a missile while you were out.

This is my reality and the reality of so many others in my country, Lebanon. Here, there is a real and devastating cost to war for those who are just existing amongst those who are fighting. As a life coach, and despite all this, I believe in hoping defiantly and in the power of a community to rebuild stronger and better even after destruction has taken its toll.

However, even with the strongest of wills and determination, everyone needs a little help. I dream of one day living in my house again, of rebuilding the home that for so many generations we built our lives in and of walking the rooms and halls again that my grandfather did. I have worked with everything I have over the last 6 months to earn or raise the funds to rebuild my home and community but, as you can imagine, finances in the aftermath of war and a national financial crisis are tight, to say the least. I now stand to possibly lose my rights to my house and the land it sits on. The Lebanese government siezes property left "abandoned" for a long period of time.

So I am reaching out and appealing to those reading this in the Lebanese diaspora and throughout the world to help me rebuild life in Lebanon and keep me from losing my land and home.
