Recently, my home and vehicle were devastated by Hurricane Helene, and I lost everything I owned in the flood. The storm hit with a ferocity that I had never experienced before. As it swept through our town of Clyde, North Carolina, and when the waters rose, I was forced to make the harrowing decision to swim to safety with my beloved dog, Angel.

In just a few moments, my life turned upside down. The floodwaters not only took my home but also my personal belongings, cherished memories, and the sense of security I had built over the years. As I navigate the emotional and financial aftermath of this disaster, I find myself starting from scratch, and I’m reaching out for help.

Angel has been my constant companion through this ordeal, and I’m grateful that we both made it out safely. However, we are now facing the daunting task of rebuilding our lives.
