Urgent Appeal: Help the Robertson Family Rebuild After Hurricane Mellisa

We are starting this GoFundMe to help the Robertson family, a resilient single mother and her three children in Black River, St. Elizabeth, Jamaica, whose home was tragically destroyed by Hurricane Mellisa.

Their Story

On October 31st, Hurricane Mellisa tore through St. Elizabeth, leaving a path of devastation in its wake. For the Robertson family, a dedicated single mother, her pair of bright teenage twins, and her eldest son, the storm wasn't just a threat. It was a disaster that wiped out their shelter, their security, and everything they had worked so hard to build.

In a matter of hours, they lost it all. The roof over their heads, their belongings, their sense of safety. Everything.

This mother has spent years doing it all on her own. With no partner to lean on, no one to share the burden, she has worked tirelessly to provide for her children by herself. She made sure the twins could go to school and pursue their dreams. She made sure her eldest son had what he needed to help support the family. Every sacrifice, every long day, every struggle has been hers to face alone. And she never gave up. She has been their provider, their protector, and their rock.

But now, through no fault of her own, she and her children are displaced. They're relying on the kindness of neighbors, sleeping wherever they can find space, with no clear path forward and no way to rebuild on their own. After years of carrying everything by herself, she simply cannot do this alone.
