Rebuild Hope for the Pickering Family
Donation protected
Let's please help the Pickering family during this troubling time. A few years ago Robbie and his wife, Tina, made the decision to start and raise their family in Altadena. They both made the conscious decision to start a family in Altadena because this was the one of the most culturally, ethnically, and economically diverse neighborhoods in the country. Unfortunately, like many; Robbie, Tina, and their two children lost everything they had in the Eaton Fire.
a note from the Family...
"When choosing somewhere to live, our dream was to have our children grow up in a neighborhood that showcased the best of what a diverse America can and should look like. Altadena, with its thriving and welcoming community of black middle class families, many of whom had been there for generations, welcomed us with open arms. For the past fifty years, it has been a refuge for the marginalized of our city to live and achieve the American socioeconomic dream. Landscapers living alongside writers. Artists living alongside plumbers and construction workers. Dreamers of all stripes and creeds, working together to create a strange, beautiful little paradise one thousand feet above the city. Over the six years lived there, we loved every minute of it. One day we hope to return"
